Summer is on all of our minds, unless, of course you live in Australia. But for those of us north of the equator, we can’t wait to break out in style for the beach, pool, or simply tanning in Central Park.

Now, there are tons of knitted and crocheted bathing suit patterns, but we have to realize that a cotton bikini might not hold up too well while throwing a volleyball around. So, the best way to add a knit to your hot summer days… COVER IT up with something fab.

Vogue Knitting has a spread in the current issue featuring a selection of summer garments. Pick up the magazine for any of these patterns.

We’ve seen it on the runways and all over the Resort Collections, whether it’s Missoni or Joie, crocheted and knitted see- thru tops are all the rage. Most of these tops are created by using lace so read the post below “Lace up those hooks and needles” to learn more about these lace techniques!

Keep in mind fiber and water friendly yarns… cotton, bamboo, and silk are great fibers for summerwear. Wools, mohairs, and alpacas might keep you sweating all afternoon!! Happy almost Summer everyone!
